I sent my 4-year old boy's card to North Pole, NY for Christmas cancellation. We mailed it December 14th, 2009 and it arrived after Christmas with a postmarked stamp that didn't imprint well enough to even make out the teddy bear picture or the city name "North Pole". Big Bummer!

<em>Note: Reply updated Dec. 18 to reflect new changes to the site</em>

Hi Kelly, I'm sorry you don't like the new Santa letters. There are probably other people out there who feel as you do, so I'm approving your comment rather than deleting it, so others can have a chance to hear my response.

I knew some people would be unhappy with the changes to the site, but there were several reasons for it. First and foremost, a lot of people had problems with the javascript that was required to create the letters on the old site. It worked fine for many people, but for others it just didn't work. I got a lot of complaints about it every year, and I think it was very frustrating for many people. Those letters also required you to copy and paste the text onto your own paper. The only thing I really provided was some sample text. You still had to pay money to buy paper, format your letter and print it out.

With these new letters, you get the Santa letterhead in addition to the text of the letters, so you never have to buy Santa paper or worry about formatting your text on printed stationery.

You can still find sample text on this site and elsewhere that you can copy to your own paper to print. I have been offering sample text to create your own <a href="http://www.squidoo.com/free-printable-santa-letters" rel="nofollow">free printable Santa letters</a> on Squidoo for a couple years, and it's still there and still free. I also just updated this site to include the same <a href="http://blog.christmaslettertips.com/2009/12/18/santa-sample-letters/" rel="nofollow">sample Santa letters</a> that were available on the old site.

So I'm still offering free Santa letter text. What is new (and I think improved) this year is that you can now purchase a colorful letterhead to go along with the text.

Thanks for your comments. I appreciate the feedback, even though it's not very positive.

In regards to Emily.. don't be such a b*tch. It's for kids. How old are you? Just because you are probably over the age of believing, doesn't mean kids can't. If you don't believe in it, then shut up and stop being such a scrooge. Grow up.

Wow I think it is great! and poor Emily..so sad that you feel this way. You must not have children because if you did you would see the exctement in their eyes. I have a son that knows the truth about Santa but I never heard him yell at me for letting him believe in him. There isn't much to believe in and be happy with nowadays so for that short time while they are little and innocent they have every right to be happy and believe in wonderful things such as Santa. My parents didn't ruin it for me and I am glad because some of my fondest memories are setting out cookies and waiting to see what Santa was going to bring me and now I see that same amazement in my childrens eyes and I am happy because they are happy. Why be so negative? Christmas is a time of miracles and love. Plus Saint Nick was real. To everyone have a blessed Christmas and Happy New Year!
