Printable Reindeer Food Poem

printable reindeer food poemHere’s an easy, quick Christmas craft kids will love.

As we all know, Santa’s reindeer have to work very hard on Christmas Eve. They work up quite an appetite helping Santa deliver gifts all over the world, but they don’t really like the cookies and milk most kids leave out for Santa. They’d really prefer something more suited for reindeer – such as oats. But they’re magic Christmas reindeer, so of course, they don’t like just any ol’ oats. They need magic reindeer food oats to help them keep up their energy for their long journey through the night.

Fortunately, it’s easy to create magic reindeer food. All you need to do is add a little holiday sparkle to some regular oats, and you’ll have a special treat for Rudolph and the gang. Kids love making magic reindeer food! It’s easy, fun and will make sure Santa and his sleigh team make it to your home on Christmas Eve.

To make reindeer food, you’ll need the following simple ingredients:

– uncooked oatmeal
– colored sugar crystals (the reindeer prefer green and red, but any color will do)
– a gift tin or sandwich bags
– a printable magic reindeer food poem (shown here)

To turn these regular ingredients into magic reindeer food, simply mix the oat and sugar crystals together in a bowl. Then pour into a plastic sandwich bag or a gift tin and add the printable poem shown here. The poem says:

Magic Reindeer Food
Santa’s reindeer come once a year
And sometimes the night isn’t very clear
So help the reindeer find their way
To your house with Santa’s sleigh.

Sprinkle this liberally on the lawn
The reindeer will be there before the next dawn.
They’ll smell the food and see crystals shine
And hurry fast to see what they will find.

But they’ll only come when you’re in bed.
So spread the food and lay down your head.
On Christmas morn, the results you’ll see
When Santa’s gifts are under the tree!

Then don’t forget to spread your magic reindeer food on Christmas Eve! It’s a surefire way to make sure the reindeer don’t forget your home!
